Band-ter will be the first blog I have written and I intend for this blog to document the new experiences of my band Alpine since signing to a label. I hope that this will also offer an insight for others who are interested in knowing what it is like when starting out in the music industry (Including myself as I don’t even know yet!)
I don’t in the slightest want to make this blog appear like an egotistical hype about my band. This is about sharing whatever obstacles, challenges or rewards that the band faces over the coming months.
The concept of writing this blog evolved when I recently began to come to terms with the reality rather than the surreal feeling of being a part of a signed band. Alpine only began performing last year (2009) in April and since then, it was as though a sudden whirlwind swept us up and brought us to the attention any band's dream: a manager, a record label and publisher – Madness!
Despite recognizing that this is such a great opportunity, I’m still coming to terms with how everything that has happened to us could happen in such a short amount of time.Therefore, I can’t help but feel a little bit of apprehension creeping up my spine when there has been little to no time to digest any of it.
I have no idea what to expect…
